A Year of Growth

Hello Reader,

A year ago, the Seeds and Water Collective had just been incorporated and received our non-profit certificate. The past year of development and impact has been amazing…but we are just getting started!

Over the Past Year:

  • Our teammate, Shala Graham, led a diverse group of contributors and leaders in establishing the Seeds and Water Collective culture and communication strategy. What we are developing is truly unique and life-changing. Here’s a snapshot!
  • We designed our logo, launched our website, and social media platforms.
  • We launched our first Pathway Experience at maximum capacity with participants from all over the U.S. See below for what they are saying about their experience with us.
  • In the past year, we have gone from $2500 in monthly support from donors to over $8000 in monthly support. We discovered that many of you sense the same need for a refuge and place of belonging for people who may have been hurt by religion.

Coming Up in 2022:

  • We are busy preparing our next Pathway Experiences for 2022.
  • We are launching a dialogue-based content strategy that is truly unique and impactful. Look for that in the Spring of 2022.
  • We are looking for more people who want to support our mission. We are in the midst of a spiritual refugee crisis in the U.S. We are onto something big here and would love to share our vision, strategy, and goals with more people. Know someone who would like what we are doing, introduce us!

Thank you for all the ways you have supported and connected with Seeds and Water, from partnering with us to engaging with us online.

Holiday blessings,

Aaron Thomas, Founder

What People are Saying from the Fall 2021 Prayer Pathway:

“I used to think prayer was more ritualistic and focused on confessions and desperate needs. But as I engaged in the Prayer Pathway, I realized that prayer is more about sitting in the presence of God/Jesus, even in silence at times, and letting my soul have a conversation that can be more than just expressing need or confessing sin. My prayer journey continues as I want to understand how to have deep prayer in a way that embraces all my being — physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. I’m simply grateful. Thank you!”
— Elizabeth
“I didn't know what to expect going into the Prayer Pathway, so I was a little skeptical. I told myself that I was going to go all in (be transparent and raw with God, self, and group), and I am so happy that I did. Once I got past being concerned about what others were thinking about me, I was really able to experience everything that the Lord revealed to me in my prayer time. During the Prayer Pathway, my prayers felt more focused and intimate. I wasn't as distracted, and I liked the suggestion of saying, "Forgive me, Father, I am a sinner," when I got distracted. That really did help refocus my attention. During the last session, Aaron prayed over me, which calmed my spirit. I was still feeling a little wobbly, but I feel like I can now hold onto the visions he shared and continue to pray about them and keep them in the forefront of my mind! Thank you for this ministry!”

Our Christmas decorations are still up. You know why? Because it’s still Christmas on the church calendar! Christmastide. 12 days of Christmas…you know the song. It’s not over until Friday my friends! :) Years ago, I started using the Book of Common Prayer in my life and our church started using the historical church calendar to plan our worship gatherings. My favorite season on the church calendar is Epiphany, which starts this Sunday and lasts until Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. The...

Searching for Faith, Facing Rejection, Finding Healing If you are pursuing faith, it means you are pursuing something bigger than yourself. This brings adventure, the unknown, and risk. One effect of pursuing faith...it will cost you relationally. You will be rejected. You will encounter in-your-face type of rejection. You will also encounter passive rejection in the form of relational distancing. People will just slowly start to loosen their contact and association with you. I've noticed, as...

Hello Reader, We can't express how grateful we are that you have shown interest in the Seeds and Water Collective, whether you joined our support team or prayed for our ministry. We are excited to share that we are now inviting people to join the Prayer Pathway, our first experience! We'll be gathering for six consecutive Wednesdays (via Zoom), starting October 13. As we work to reach those who may have been hurt by religion to rediscover faith, we hope this experience allows people to meet...
